Dennis B. Nicks, MD, FACS

A former Chief of Surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Dr. Nicks completed his surgical residency at prestigious Dartmouth Medical Center in Hanover, NH, and his plastic surgery residency at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He has special interests in liposculpture (including ultrasonic and Smartlipo), as well as arm lifts, eye lifts (both cosmetic and functional), injury and deformity reconstruction, and surgery after massive weight loss. Dr. Nicks is also a certified hand surgeon who has performed many hand surgery “firsts” in our region.

Dr. Nicks is also an accomplished photographer, pursuing his passion in capturing beauty worldwide—from the bright colors of the Caribbean islands to the crisp textures of the tropical rain forest. Not surprisingly, he uses many of the same skills in photography as he does in surgery, including his artist’s eye, a talent for composition and an ability to cast his subject matter in the best light possible.
