The Eyes (And Ears) Have It
Ears that protrude or seem out of proportion to a person’s other facial features can detract from his or her physical appearance. Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces the size of large ears, or sets protruding ears back closer to the head.
Drooping brows, upper eyelids and sagging skin on the forehead can make a person appear angry, sad or tired, and certainly older. Eyebrow lifts can cosmetically improve these horizontal lines and furrows, also creating a more pleasant, youthful appearance.
Sagging, puffy or drooping eyelids, as well as bags and bulges above and below the eyes, can be corrected by eyelid surgery known as blepharoplasty. The symptoms are caused when fat forces its way through layers of muscles. When the surgery is used to correct visual field defects, it may be covered by medical insurance.
