Wilmington Plastic Surgery’s Dr. Morgan Appointed To Cleveland Clinic Adjunct Faculty, and NC School

WILMINGTON, NC– Wilmington Plastic Surgery physician Mark W. Morgan, MD, FACS, has been named Adjunct Professor at the Cleveland Clinic. Currently, he also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in these positions,” said Dr. Morgan. “These appointments enable me to act as a mentor and educator in collaboration with these two outstanding medical institutions. Additionally, it allows me to be involved in advanced, cutting-edge treatments in plastic surgery. Ultimately, this provides my patients with the prospect of benefiting from the latest and most innovative treatments available.”

In addition to his faculty appointments, Dr. Morgan has also recently been named to the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM) in Durham, NC. As an alumnus of NCSSM, Dr. Morgan said he knows first-hand how important the school is to the state of North Carolina.

“It is very gratifying to be able to give back to the school that has helped me in so many ways,” said Dr. Morgan. “It’s an honor to help guide the next generation of leaders who will shape not only our state and country but our world. I hope the citizens of North Carolina share my pride in having this incredible institution in our state.”

Dr. Morgan also has been educated and trained at both medical institutions where he is now serving as faculty. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Morgan graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. He went on to complete his plastic surgery training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Dr. Morgan also trained in hand and microsurgery at the prestigious Hand Center of San Antonio and continued his specialized training at internationally renowned hospitals,
including the University of Heidelberg’s BG-Trauma Center, and the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Taiwan’s Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He then completed a prestigious Aesthetic Surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

In his tenure at Wilmington Plastic Surgery, Dr. Morgan has served as a regional trainer and advisory board member for several companies that provide medical aesthetic products. His clinical interests include cosmetic surgery, complex cancer reconstruction, and hand surgery.
