Charles R. Kays, DMD, MD, FACS has been named one of three honorees for the inaugural Champion of Hope award. The award is being given by Women of Hope, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for current female cancer patients, as well as survivors and their families.
The award seeks to identify and recognize a multi-accomplished individual who has enriched the lives of cancer patients and treats them with extraordinary compassion. Honorees were selected from a pool of nominees in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow and Duplin counties.
According to Women of Hope, those honored have not only demonstrated compassion, they have been sources of hope and optimism in the administration of their care and support.
The two other recipients are Willa Hughey of South Atlantic Radiation Oncology and Sara Kearns of Onslow County Home Health and Hospice. Dr. Kays, along with Hughey and Kearns, will be recognized at the second annual Diamonds and Champagne Hope Ball on November 22, 2014, at the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington.
